CHELSEA are said to be “quite keen” on a deal to sign Neymar this summer, with the PSG star open to joining the Blues, according to Julien Laurens.
Mauricio Pochettino is a man that will be heading to the club over the next few weeks after agreeing to take over from caretaker boss Frank Lampard – who will depart the club.
Neymar has been a player that has been heavily linked with a stunning move to Stamford Bridge – with reports suggesting that he is a player that Pochettino would like to add to his side.
PSG attempted to sell Neymar last summer but were unable to find a buyer for the Brazil international, who also wanted to stay at the French club.
However, ESPN reports that Neymar has changed his stance ahead of the summer window and is now keen on a move away from PSG
And if you believe the words of Laurens – he would be open to a move to Chelsea in the summer – The 42-year-old said: “PSG have opened the door, well, not just the door, the windows, fridge doors, anything you want for him to go! They’re just waiting for someone to be interested.
“We know that there were talks about Manchester United, which were not really true. I think Chelsea are quite keen, it will depend what Pochettino says, of course. I think he (Neymar) would like the Premier League.
“He doesn’t really want to be there anymore (at PSG). Chelsea are still high on his list, and he’s quite high on theirs, but there’s still a lot more work to be done on this one.”
Neymar is still one of the biggest players in the game and his name will bring in a lot of revenue.
But anyone hoping that he will come in and set the Premier League alight – will bang in lots of goals and entertain the fans can think again – he is not that type of player anymore.
It would still be a massive signing for CHELSEA to make – but he is not the answer to all the problems that Chelsea’s are having on the pitch – and he certainly will not help things off it too.
