Chelsea's busy summer transfer window continues, as the club looks to strengthen the squad for new manager Enzo Maresca, ahead of the new season. The club has already made moves like signing the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Estevao Willian, while a deal is in place for Ian Maatsen to join Aston Villa. And on Sunday, a new, shocking development has surfaced.
According to reports, Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Barcelona starlet Marc Guiu. The Blues have been linked with the youngster, who is yet to commit his future to the Catalan giants. And according to reports, a deal between Barca and Chelsea for Guiu is in it's advanced stages, as the player has agreed personal terms with Chelsea and the Blues are willing to pay his release clause.
Journalist Gerard Romero tweeted:
"These minutes of Marc Guiu, if nothing goes wrong, are going to be the striker's last minutes with Barça.
As Balagué said, Chelsea plans to pay Guiu's €6million clause. The player also has advanced agreements with the London club."
Guiu is one of Barcelona's latest La Masia graduates whom had found his way to the first team, albeit with limited playing time. Last season, he made three substitute appearances in the La Liga and two in the Champions League, scoring one goal in each competition.
