Journalist Noah Robson has claimed that Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo left Stamford Bridge in pain last night.
He took to Twitter to state that the 21-year-old was clutching his knee as the game came to a close last night.
It was a welcome sight for Chelsea fans to see a game end with their team on the winning side.
Nicolas Jackson scored the only goal of the game as the Blues progressed to the next round of the EFL Cup.
They defeated a very strong Brighton side, with Roberto de Zerbi naming the best side possible from his deep squad.
It was Chelsea though who booked their place in the next round, with some seriously good individual displays.
Cole Palmer in particular had a strong outing, with it being his first start in the royal Blue shirt.
Caicedo left in pain
His presence allowed Enzo Fernandez a well-earned rest, however will also surely be the launching pad for more starts in the number 10 role.
With Fernandez rested, Pochettino looked to a midfield pairing of Caicedo and Lesley Ugochukwu, who is proving a very useful figure at Stamford Bridge after his summer signing.
It was not all good news though. Robson claimed that the Ecuador midfielder was seen clutching his knee in the latter stages.
He said: “ Moises Caicedo now clutching his knee.”
Injuries have already threatened to plague the club-record signing since he joined, with them never really being a problem in his career up to now.
Supporters will be hoping it is not too bad an issue and that he can he be part of the side that takes on Fulham on Monday night.
