Journalist Fabrice Hawkins has claimed that Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto has now been handed his first senior international call-up.
He took to Twitter to claim that he had been selected to replace Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano in the squad.
Gusto had been enjoying a relatively positive start to life after rejoining Chelsea this summer for his first season in Blue.
After Reece James’ opening week injury, he was the first choice right-back for a number of weeks, playing well in the process.

However, he was sent off against Aston Villa for a strong challenge, and this forced Mauricio Pochettino to think outside the box.
He has elected to play Marc Cucurella in the role for the last three games, and this has coincided with three consecutive victories for the club.
The Spaniard has impressed greatly in those outings, and it remains to be seen which way the manager looks when all of his options are available again.
Nevertheless, it seems as if Gusto has made an impression on the senior international side, with Hawkins claiming he has been named a member of the first team squad.
He will be joining Axel Disasi as late call-ups to the national side, with his Chelsea teammate also being named in the squad today.
