Chelsea to announce Frank Lampard as caretaker manager as talks with Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique ongoing

Chelsea got their first win under interim coach Frank Lampard at the seventh time of asking as they beat Bournemouth 3-1 on Saturday.

Despite Conor Gallagher’s early opening goal, it was not at all easy for the Blues as Bournemouth were strong from the beginning and pulled level through a spectacular Matias Vina strike. The Cherries had chances to go ahead while the likes of Kai Havertz and Mykhailo Mudryk underwhelmed in attack for the Blues, though Noni Madueke was excellent down the right wing just as he was in his prior outing against Arsenal.

Here are the three best players from the game

Noni Madueke

Looks so positive on and off the ball. He played really wide on the right-hand side and constantly looked to run in behind. Not everything comes off for him at the moment but he is such an exciting footballer to watch. Brilliant again.

Benoit Badiashile

Went about his defensive business without much fuss and made a decisive intervention in the opposition box.

Conor Gallagher

Brought energy to Chelsea’s midfield and another body in the box. Gallagher was one of the few Chelsea players who performed well.
