Ahead of facing Chelsea this weekend, Arsenal is one of only two teams who are yet to lose a game in the Premier League this season.
The other team happen to be fellow North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. Interestingly, both clubs have played two draws and have the same amount of points and goals difference, both joint top of the League.
However, Arsenal’s impressive start could come to an end at Stamford Bridge this Saturday and here’s why.
Chelsea are now a team in form. The Blues have won three consecutive games against Brighton, Fulham and Burnley. The impressive part is that two of those wins were away from home.
Their most impressive win was a 1-0 victory over a Brighton on the Carabao Cup. Brighton are one of the hardest teams to play against in the Premier. Indeed, they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford so to lose at Stamford Bridge says a lot about the progress Chelsea have made under Pochettino.
Chelsea have the fatigue advantage. Due to their poor form since last season and the youthfulness of their team, most Chelsea players didn’t get call ups to their National Teams. On the other hand, Arsenal had several call ups and while the core of Chelsea’s main players were preparing for their next game, Arsenal players were scattered around the world representing their countries.
This will favour Chelsea who will be in far better team spirit by the time the game kicks off this weekend.
