RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that Chelsea have made an opening offer for Crystal Palace playmaker Michael Olise (21).
According to Hawkins, the bid is worth just below €45m, including bonuses. Olise, who competed in the UEFA European U21 Championships, is “seduced” by the project at Stamford Bridge, and whilst negotiations between the player and Chelsea are ongoing, there is an agreement in principle to make the switch across London.
Olise is currently sidelined with a hamstring tear and will miss the start of the season. It is thought that the Crystal Palace playmaker could miss several months. Despite already adding to their attack this summer, notably adding Christopher Nkunku to their attacking arsenal, Chelsea remain in the market for a playmaker and have been linked with a move for Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus by The Athletic.
Fabrizio Romano has added that Olise is also on Manchester City’s shortlist, but both the Cityzens and Chelsea are seeking clarity regarding the playmaker’s injury.
