Chelsea could now sign £130,000-a-week Manchester City player for £30m

Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea could be able to sign Aymeric Laporte from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for £30 million.

According to Rudy Galetti on Twitter, Chelsea are interested in signing Aymeric Laporte from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

The Italian journalist has reported that Juventus are also keen on the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) Spain international central defender.

City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season, are willing to sell Laporte for £30 million.

Could Chelsea sign Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City?
In our opinion, Chelsea could be able to sign Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

After all, a transfer fee of £30 million is not that much.

And Laporte’s weekly salary of £130,000 at City is not that high either for a player of his quality and experience.

The problem that Chelsea could face is convincing the player himself to move to the Blues.

The 29-year-old is used to playing in the UEFA Champions League and competing (and winning) the Premier League title with City.

Chelsea are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title next season and will not play in the UEFA Champions League.
