Chelsea have been told to pay £80million transfer fee for Premier League striker

Chelsea football club will most definitely be on the lookout for a new striker to improve their goalscoring options ahead of the January transfer window.

Recall that the West London club completed the signings of Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer during the last summer to solve their goalscoring problems.

However, that has not quite worked out well for Chelsea football club so far as they are currently occupying the 11th position on the Premier League table under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Due to this, Chelsea football club want a new striker and have been linked with a move for experienced Brentford centre-forward Ivan Toney when the transfer window opens.

The 27-year-old England International, who signed up for Brentford football club after departing Peterborough back in 2020 has proven to be a key member of the first-team squad.

The experienced centre-forward was hugely influential for Brentford during the 2022/2023 season where he scored 21 goals and created five assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

But then, Ivan Toney is yet to make any competitive appearance for Brentford so far this ongoing 2023/2024 season as he is currently serving a ban after he was found guilty of breaching the English FA rules regarding betting.

Ivan Toney is set to finish serving his ban in January and ahead of that, the experienced striker is attracting interests from Chelsea football club according to latest reports from Transfer News Live.

The reports further claimed that Brentford are very much aware of Chelsea’s interest in Ivan Toney and have now told the Blues to pay up to £80million transfer fee in order to sign him.

It is believed that Chelsea football club are really interested in Ivan Toney but then, it remains to be seen if the Blues will choose to pay the demanded £80million transfer fee.
