Chelsea injury update on Carney Chukwuemeka, Christopher Nkunku, & Reece James

Pochettino updates on Nkunku's injury against Dortmund

Reece James shone on the opening weekend vs Liverpool before being forced off with an injury.

Mauricio Pochettino insisted that James was looking at a return date weeks away rather than months:

“It is not about a few days, maybe a few weeks but the most important thing is the evolution. The good thing is it is not a big issue,” the Argentine said last week.

With that in mind, a return after the upcoming international break looks likely.

Christopher Nkunku suffered an injury against Borussia Dortmund in Chicago in what was Chelsea’s final pre-season friendly. No exact timeframe is being given but reports have suggested a late November to early December return for Nkunku.

Carney Chukwuemeka scored his first Premier League goal this past weekend vs West Ham but then picked up an injury in the same game.

The player has undergone surgery on the knee injury sustained against West Ham and whilst Chelsea did not give a timeline for the teenager’s return to match fitness, it is expected to be around six weeks away.
