Senegalese International Kaliduo Koulibaly completed his move to Chelsea after the Blues agreed on a £33m deal with Napoli. Koulibaly was confirmed as the Blues’ second summer signing on Saturday, following Raheem Sterling’s transfer.
Koulibaly is said to be a key player at Chelsea next season. He will be taking over from where Rudiger left off before joining Real Madrid, as he will bring in that strong center-back mentality. With Chelsea fans’ expectations from the center-back very high, the Senegalese international has promised them that he will give his best to the club each time he is on the pitch.
Here is a message to the fans ahead of the new season :
The 32-year-old will no doubt perform at a very top level in Chelsea next season. His stats in the Italy series A is mind blowing and it won’t take much from him to replicate it in the premier league for Chelsea. He made over 300 appearances for the Serie A club Napoli since joining from Belgian side Genk eight years ago. Over that time he has gone on to win the best defender Italy once (2019 season) and appeared on the series A team of the year four times.
Despite the abundance of center back at the blues currently, Thomas Tuchel is still looking to add two top central defenders to his squad this summer. The blues are currently heavily linked with Kimbempe of PSG and Jules Kounde of Sevilla. According to reports Chelsea is nearing an agreement deal to sign Sevilla star man, Kounde.
