Chelsea receive greenlight to sign Madrid star, Fedrerico Valverde as they dump Caicedo deal

Chelsea splash £68m for high-rated Nigeria striker as he arrives London to undergo medical on his possible move to Stamford Bridge

CHELSEA are reportedly keen on a stunning summer swoop for Fedrerico Valverde.

Mauricio Pochettino is a man that knows he needs to sign players that will improve the squad enough this summer that they will challenge for that Premier League title next season.

The Argentine boss has made some very good signings this summer – with Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson the ones that stand out the most – but he knows that he needs to keep adding to the squad.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

Spanish publication Nacional claim the Blues are tempted to try and bring the Uruguayan to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid

The Spanish giants have already rejected big offers from Saudi Arabia for Valverde, so it would take a mammoth offer from Chelsea to convince Real to part ways.

However, the player might be interested due to the fact he would see his wages quintupled and would be guaranteed more game time on a weekly basis that he would at the Bernabeu.

However – Speaking earlier in the transfer window – Real Madrid midfielder Valverde seemed to rule out a possible move to the Premier League this summer.

He told ESPN: “No, no… I’m at Madrid.

“I’m trying to enjoy every moment and leave my mark on the best club in the world. I want to keep winning titles for Real Madrid fans.”

We would be shocked to see Velverde make the move to the Premier League – he is happy at Madrid – has shown no desire to leave the Bernabeu – this is a transfer that CHELSEA need to forget about

Chelsea will be making alot of transfer moves over the next few weeks in order to revamp the squad enough to make them challengers for that Premier League title.

But there is no point in chasing players that are never going to move – and Velverde was one of those players.
