Reports have claimed that Chelsea are still in contact with West Ham over a potential deal to sign Declan Rice.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues have asked the Hammers to wait until they have sold players to allow them the funds to make the signing this summer.
Chelsea’s interest in Rice has been prevalent for a number of years now, however reports have suggested that this summer they could be the furthest away they have ever been.

It has been claimed that Arsenal have made the signing their number one priority this summer, seemingly blowing the Blues out the water.
They have even seemed to withdraw their interest in the addition of Moises Caicedo, which may at least provide a clear path for the signing to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea prepared to go for Rice
Rice has been a player that they have done a lot of work on in the past, and will not want to give up on easily.
This perhaps explains the report that the Blues are still not giving up hope on the deal, although they are needing to wait until they have sold some players before they can move.
There are very few first team players that the club are not at least willing to listen to offers to this summer, and a lot of the players that could be on their way out reside in the midfield roles.
Both N’golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are reportedly close to sealing their exits to Saudi Arabia and Manchester City respectively, leaving the need for reinforcements at a high.
There is also the possibility that Conor Gallagher could be on the move this summer too, with recent interest from Brighton in bringing him in.
