Chelsea Star Ruled Out Of Brighton And Real Madrid Games

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly will miss the Blues’ next two games against Brighton Hove Albion and Real Madrid after he limped off with a muscular injury in their 2-0 defeat to the Los Blancos in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Koulibaly pulled up after sprinting back to chase a loose ball which Rodrygo Goes competed with him at the Santiago Bernabeu. The former Napoli defender was replaced by Marc Cucurella on 55 minutes.

Lampard said on Koulibaly during the press conference ahead of Brighton clash: “He won’t be available for either game. A matter of weeks rather than days. He’s a very good, very experienced player. People talk a lot about our squad, Champions League squad is different to Premier League and a disappointment but also an opportunity.”
