Chelsea to announce £12m signing of world-class star

Chelsea are reportedly confident of signing Brazilian youngster as agreement and paperworks signed.
Santos, who’s just 18, is a young midfielder that plays for Brazilian club Vasco da Gama.
The teenager has already racked up 37 first-team appearances for his club, scoring eight goals in return.
Chelsea’s love affair with Brazilian players has been great in the past couple of decades, so will history be about to repeat itself?

According to 90min, Graham Potter’s side are “confident” that they will be signing Santos next month.
It is understood that the Blues feel they’ve beaten off competition from both Newcastle United and Barcelona for the 18-year-old’s signature.
The report explains Chelsea could pay around £12million to sign the South American youngster. It’s a deal that could end up costing £20million including add-ons, though.
The west London club are looking to get the deal wrapped up and finalised quickly so it can be confirmed for January.
This looks like being another signing that fits a recent trend.
Alongside some high-profile buys in the transfer window, it’s noticeable that last summer Chelsea moved to bring in rising stars with one eye on the future. Carney Chukwuemeka, Omari Hutchinson, Gabriel Slonina and Cesare Casadei the potential future superstars to sign on the dotted line at Stamford Bridge in 2022.
It would be interesting to know what kind of plan Chelsea have in store for Santos.
There’s certainly an overload in the Blues midfielder right now, so perhaps a loan deal could make perfect sense.
