Chelsea are set to accelerate their attempts to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo this week.
The Blues have been working on a deal to sign Caicedo for a number of weeks as Mauricio Pochettino searches for a new midfielder to add to his squad. Many different valuations have been reported on social media ranging from £80-100million with the Ecuador international now said to be ‘unhappy’ that no fee has been agreed between the two clubs yet.
Reece James and Wesley Fofana did not feature in the Blues’ 29-man squad list for their pre-season tour in the USA. The England international reported he was feeling unwell and will meet up with the team at a later date, whilst Fofana is currently being assessed after suffering a knee injury.
Romelu Lukaku is hoping to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge in the coming days with Juventus and Al-Hilal both keen on signing the Belgian striker. Chelsea face Wrexham in their first pre-season friendly of the summer on Wednesday and the likes of Rayan Cherki and Caicedo could well have joined the Blues by the time the Premier League season begins in just under a month.
