Chelsea are reportedly prepared to include 22-year-old midfielder Conor Gallagher in a player-plus-cash deal to sign Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea are willing to use Gallagher as bait in their attempts to lure Caicedo away from Brighton, who do hold a long-term interest in the English international.
Gallagher is reportedly viewed by Brighton as an ideal replacement for Alexis Mac Allister, who joined Liverpool a few days ago.
He featured 45 times across competitions last season for Chelsea, chipping in with four goals.
The report added that it would be difficult for the former Crystal Palace loanee to force his way into new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s starting lineup next season.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on Gallagher’s situation.
