Chelsea told they could lose James if poor form continues: ‘He’s aware of Madrid’s interest’

CHE 1-0 LUT: Raheem Sterling scored sensational goal to put Chelsea in 1-0 lead over Luton

Real Madrid have been tracking Reece James for a long time and it’s been reported many times that they consider him a perfect candidate for the right-back spot.

So far there has been no sign of the Englishman ever wanting to leave Chelsea, where he has been made captain and given a long-term contract.

But journalist Dean Jones warns that if Chelsea’s on-the-pitch woes continue, the defender’s head might be turnned.

Jones told Give Me Sport: “Reece James has been aware of Real Madrid’s interest.

“But currently, his complete focus has been on Chelsea, getting fit and emerging as a leader in this squad.

“The only thing Chelsea should worry about is if this season goes badly. Reece James is committed, but if they have a repeat of last term, and Real Madrid make an offer, he’s got a decision to make. Turning that down would not be easy.”
