Carney Chukwuemeka, who is currently on tour with Chelsea in the United States, recently spoke about Mason Mount when he interacted with fans.
Although Chukwuemeka spent just one season alongside the 24-year-old Mount before Mount’s move to Manchester United in June, it appears they developed a strong connection.
Chukwuemeka expressed that he will miss Mount but acknowledged that the situation is beyond his control. Chelsea faced challenges in reaching a new contract agreement with Mount, who is a product of their academy.
The young midfielder’s statement was quoted by Football Daily: “It is what it is man. I miss him.” Chukwuemeka and Mount shared a pitch on three occasions last season.
Chukwuemeka may feel sad about Mount leaving Chelsea, but this could be a great opportunity for his career at Stamford Bridge. With Chelsea yet to sign a new midfielder, it’s possible that Mauricio Pochettino will give Chukwuemeka more playing time.
