Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Man United fans following 3-2 win over Omonia Nicosia

At the final whistle of Manchester United’s win over Omonia, for a moment Cristiano Ronaldo looked like he wanted to scream in frustration.

He then checked himself, paused, and clapped as he walked off the pitch.

It was not Ronaldo’s night, and it hasn’t been his season so far. He has to continue to believe it will all turn around.

United won 3-2, with Ronaldo playing all 90 minutes and failing to score from any of his eight shots at goal.

Ronaldo sends short message after win

Ronaldo has been continually praised this season for his professionalism and positive attitude even when he is not playing.

He was clearly disappointed at full-time, knowing he had probably struggled to seize a starting spot for the weekend.

But just like his short clap at the final whistle, Ronaldo’s message to fans after the game was a positive one, choosing not to reflect on his misfortune, and praising his teammates.

Whether Ronaldo stays with United all season remains unclear, but right now he is fully committed, and the team are working hard for him too.

Last night teammates passed to Ronaldo repeatedly when they probably should have shot, and it was to the team’s detriment as the chances went wasted.

Ronaldo is still capable of going on a scoring run and silencing his critics, but he is a long way removed from his prolific Real Madrid days.
