Chelsea are set to announce their first January signing of a talented centre-back as paperwork and agreement signed and medical completed.
Chelsea have signed talented centre-back, Travis Akomeah from Premier League rivals, Watford.
This was disclosed by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Monday night.
Romano said that Chelsea beat the likes of Liverpool and Bournemouth for Akomeah’s signature.
He tweeted, “Waiting for first-team fullback to arrive soon… Chelsea sign talented 16-year-old centre back Travis Akomeah from Watford.
“Agreement reached and paperworks now signed. #CFC @TheSecretScout.
“Liverpool and Bournemouth were pushing too but Akomeah’s joining Chelsea.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently in the second position on the Premier League table with 43 points from 21 games.
Chelsea’s next fixture is against Tottenham on Wednesday in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg.
Thomas Tuchel’s side had defeated Tottenham 2-0 in the first-leg a few days ago.
