Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has slammed Graham Potter for playing unwell Chelsea star, Mykhailo Mudryk during the Blues’ 0-0 draw with Fulham at the weekend.
The Ukraine international started the game and pulled off after 45 minutes following his underwhelming performance.
After the game, the manager told the press that the player was suffering from a cold during the game.
And Merson questioned the English manager’s decision to feature a player who was not feeling well before the game when there were several other players on the bench.
“The problem is if he’s not well, give the lad a chance. Don’t play him on his home debut if he’s not well,” Merson said on Sky Sports.
“He was behind the eight ball straight away. Not a good one for him. He did struggle.
“Don’t play him, they’ve got enough players in the squad to not play him. For me, he needs to hit the ground running. They all do.”
