Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has taken to social media to praise Julian Alvarez for his two goals in the Champions League for Manchester City last night.
The Argentine took to Instagram to praise his countryman for his performance on the big stage.
This season sees no Champions League football at Stamford Bridge, meaning one of the best midfielders in the world, Fernandez, will not be seen in the competition.
This is clearly a disappointing fact for a number of the Blues players, with the experienced Thiago Silva already hinting at his frustration at the situation.
Meanwhile, defending champions City got their campaign underway at home to Red Star Belgrade, where they trailed 1-0 at the break.
However, a quick turnaround in the second half saw them runout 3-1 winners, with Alvarez finding the net twice to launch the comeback.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a really strong start to the campaign at the Etihad, looking as important a player in the attack there as Erling Haaland.
One Chelsea player this seems to have impressed is Fernandez, who commented on Alvarez’s post-game Instagram post to praise his countryman.
The City man was full of praise for the World Cup young player of the tournament himself after the duo linked up on international duty.
Fernandez opened the scoring in a 3-0 win for his country over Bolivia.
Now, he will be hoping to help turn things around at Stamford Bridge in an attempt to see them try and qualify for the competition again.
They already look as if they are going to need major intervention though, after taking just five points from their opening five games.
