Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed PSG star Neymar would be first choice at Chelsea if he was to move to the club this summer.
The Blues are still looking to get a few more transfer deals done before the close of the summer window – and there has been big speculation that Neymar is a man that the club want.
The Brazilian has constantly been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent seasons – but after reports emerged suggesting that he has asked PSG for an exit this summer, speculation has been rife that CHELSEA could be his next destination.
It is no secret that Ted Boehly is still keen to make one big marquee signing for Chelsea -and Neymar is still regarded as one of the very best players in world football, despite his injury issues over the past few seasons.
Now – amid all the speculation and the rumours -Agbonlahor has opened up and claimed that the Brazilian star will walk straight into that Chelsea starting line-up should the board actually make a move.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
“Can we put some respect on Neymar’s name, please?” he said.
“He’s bored. He’s obviously bored at PSG. It’s happening to all the players who go there. He’s got too much power there.
“Put Neymar in a team with a manager that can handle him, a team in La Liga or the Premier League, and he would do a job. He would walk into most Premier League teams. Let’s have it right.
“For people to say Chelsea shouldn’t have him, he would walk into that Chelsea front three.”
SHOULD CHELSEA REALLY TRY AND SIGN NEYMAR?
From a commercial aspect he would be a big signing for CHELSEA as the man is a brand all on his own. From a headline aspect he would be a massive signing for the Blues, he really would be.
but in terms of on the pitch could he produce the goods? That is a question that many are wondering, especially at this stage of his career when that desire to be one of the best has gone.
There was a point that Neymar would have been a brilliant signing, somebody that could bang in goals and create on a regular basis, we are just not sure he is that player anymore.
