Arsenal made a significant statement in the Premier League title race this season by defeating Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday.
Gabriel Martinelli’s late goal handed Arsenal a 1-0 victory over title rivals Manchester City in the biggest game of the Premier League season thus far in North London.
The Brazilian’s 87th-minute shot hit Nathan Ake in the face and deflected past a helpless Ederson, giving Arsenal the lead and a three-point lead on the table.
City struggled to create anything noteworthy throughout the game and were fortunate not to have Mateo Kovacic sent off.
The win moves Arsenal up to 20 points and second position in the table. They overtake City, who are third with 18 points.
