How Wesley Fofana helps France to defeat Germany 1-0

English Premier League giant, Chelsea FC summer signing Wesley Fofana was in action yesterday for France U-21 team in an international friendly match against Germany U-21 away from home.

The 21 year old football maestro and prolific defender was solid for the Les Bleus in the keenly contested encounter which ended in a one nil hard-fought victory in favour of the visitor.

The first half of the game hanged on the balance as it was such a balanced one between the two sides with nothing separating them going into the half time break which ended goalless draw.

The visitor in the second half were able to turn the table around in their favour as they secured the win with the only goal scored by Amine Gouiri which was enough to separate the two sides at full time.

Here are three players that performed brilliantly for the Les Bleus in the keenly contested encounter:

Wesley Fofana

The Chelsea new boy and former Leicester City star was solid at the heart of the defence line where he gave his best with an all-round performance coupled with his vast experience used in clearing some dangerous ball, to deny the host some clear cut chances that could have been converted into goals.

Amine Gouiri

The Stade de Rennes forward and former Olympique Lyon star was the game changer in the show of the night as he emerged the hero and saviour with his only goal scored been enough to secure the remarkable hard-fought away victory for his team.

Illan Meslier

The Leeds United prolific shot stopper and former Lorient star was solid at the goal post where he deliver at the optimal level in between the stick.

He made some iconic and decisive saves to deny the host some clear cut chances that could have been converted into goals.

They will all be hoping to maintain the standard for the team in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the next game.
