“I’d rather keep quiet at the moment”

The Blues defender, Thiago Silva has opened up on his future at Chelsea

“This is a long-standing relationship, right? But I’d rather keep quiet at the moment, because it’s been controversial in the recent past,”

The Chelsea defender is one of the most professional in the game and it is not a surprise to see him not comment too much about his future.

Thiago is 39 years old and some suspect he will eventually move away from Chelsea next summer, but the Brazilian and his family are known lovers of London and Chelsea, and both them, the fans and new coach Mauricio Pochettino have excellent relationships, so there could be room for another year or so!

Some may argue that this should be his last season, but others would rightly point out that Chelsea should do everything they can to keep hold of him beyond this season, and perhaps even tie him down to a deal where he can finish his career at Chelsea and then go into a coaching role of some sort.

The main factor in any case will be his family and what they want to do, Thiago does not do anything without their blessing.
