Mauricio Pochettino has had to make a few adaptations in his Chelsea lineup this season largely due to the mass amount of injuries he has had to contend with.
And on top of that lately as well there has been some suspensions to key players in key areas.
We have seen centre back Levi Colwill only be used as a left back so far this season, and there have been other players as well who have perhaps been playing in more unfamiliar positions.
Marc Cucurella is the latest player asked to play in a position that he has not played in before, and this was due to Malo Gusto being suspended, and Reece James being injured.
Cucurella has slotted in at right back, on his weaker foot, as a result.
Of course, it’s not too different to his actual position as a left back, just on the other side. But Cucurella admits he’s found it a little difficult to adjust to the new role.
Speaking on the Chelsea website, Cucurella said: “It’s a little bit difficult. Really it depends on the actions.
“The big demands are the same, it’s just I’m the opposite side. I try to do my best, help the team, and I think my teammates help me as well. So we need to continue in this way and win games.”
