Julian Knight, chair of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, has warned Chelsea’s highest bidder, Todd Boehly against retaining both Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia at Stamford Bridge.
According to Knight, all those connected with the outgoing owner, Roman Abramovich should no longer be part of the club following the takeover.
Boehly is said to be aiming to keep both Buck and Granovskaia at the club after his (Boehly) consortium has been selected as the preferred candidate to take over the club.
Abramovich put the club up for sale before he was sanctioned by the UK government following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Both Granovskaia and Buck have been key figures during Abramovich’s reign at Stamford Bridge.
“Any continuity with the Abramovich regime at Chelsea is certainly an unsettling development,” Knight told the Financial Times.
“There needs to be clarity surrounding the process to ensure that everything is being done to the letter.”
