Mauricio Pochettino is backing current Chelsea number one goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez to succeed in the near future despite his apparent struggles at the moment.
Sanchez was brought in from Brighton over the summer, and has played every game for Chelsea this season, following Kepa Arrizzabalaga’s loan move to Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old has however not looked assured in goal at times, making errors that ended up costing his side some points.
A good number of Chelsea fans have called for Sanchez to be dropped for former MLS goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic, but that may not happen soon, as Pochettino insists he has complete faith in his Spanish shot-stopper.
He said: “I’m really happy with his attitude and commitment. He is going to be great.
“He only arrived at the last moment, the other keeper went to Madrid, he played in two or three training sessions and then straight in.
“We need to give him time to adapt, it is not the same playing for another team as it is at Chelsea where there is pressure to win.”
