Positive injury developments for new Chelsea star but return date still a way off

There has been a positive development for one of Chelsea’s new stars today although the overall diagnosis is still not looking great.

I had the info first today that I put out on my personal website Si Phillips Talks Chelsea.

Our sources had said that Lavia was still going to be out for a while despite the initial hope of him returning after this international break. We had forecast a late November/early December return for him just earlier today.

Put this story out on my website earlier today. Romeo Lavia’s return was initially expected any time now, but the injury was actually worse than first reported. https://t.co/el2rkAxGwE pic.twitter.com/baTL42x2Ng

The Daily Mail then followed that up with their exclusive report basically saying the same thing in terms of time frame for his return to the field, although none of us truly know that because as I say, sources have told me there is no time frame on a return for Lavia as of now.

However, on the positive side of that, in the report from The Mail, they do say that there is a positive development and that is Lavia in now walking unaided after removing the protective boot from his ankle after suffering ligament damage in training at the start of September.
