Fans have already noticed a weakness in his game in just his first 45 minutes of action
Fans have already noticed a flaw in Mason Mount’s game in just his first minutes of action for Manchester United against Leeds United.

United’s first pre-season game against the relegated Premier League side was played in Norway before the team headed out to the United States for their full pre-season tour.

Erik Ten Hag named Mount as a starter in the number 10 role for his game in red, with his competitive debut expected to come when the Red Devils face Wolves in their first game of the season on August 14.

He lasted only 45 minutes before academy player Isal Hansen Aaroen replaced him. The whole team was replaced with a new look 11 for the second half.

Fans poke fun at Mount
He was the team’s best player in the first half, with some great passes and a big chance created. The former Derby loanee also got a chance to score but dinked the goalkeeper from outside the box.

He did have some poor moments where he volleyed a shot high over the bar from the edge of the box, the clips of which have been going viral on Twitter.

In fairness, most of the negative reactions have been from Chelsea fans, who are still bitter about his departure.

The Blues fans had expressed rage after a video of him and his dad from the Old Trafford dressing room emerged, and his reaction suggested genuine happiness at his new environment.

However, there were genuine concerns over his set piece delivery, which was indeed not good enough, but not to worry, he may be off that duty once Bruno Fernandes returns to the team.

Mount imitates Ronaldo’s freekick technique
Sports Brief also reported that Mount is a Ronaldo fanboy, and he spoke about how he modelled his freekick technique after the Portuguese, from his days at Cobham Academy.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is football’s greatest influence; with his lifestyle and goal celebration, he is a model for colleagues and young players.
