Chelsea bounce back from their previous defeat to step up massive 6-0 win over Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek darts down the right flank and pulls a cross to Mason Mount. The Englishman does well with his first touch and with a great flick, he assists Marcos Alonso for a smashing shot against Southampton’s goal to open the scorelines in Chelsea’s favour.
Mount assists, and he also scores! Loftus-Cheek gets a great pass in the box, and he tries to find a fellow Blue in yellow in the area. The ball is deflected by a Southampton defender and falls to Mount, who once again shows his class with a great first touch and a long-range strike to boot — and score Chelsea’s second goal of the day!
Timo Werner goooaaalll – With great help from shambolic defending by Southampton, Timo Werner adds himself to the scoreline and makes it 3-0 Chelsea against the Saints at St. Mary’s Stadium
Havertz make it 4-0, While we could be frustrated by Timo Werner completing a hat-trick of shots on the post, the best thing is Kai Havertz being in the vicinity to bury the chance created by his fellow countryman for Chelsea.
N’Golo Kanté tries to add himself to the scoresheet today against Southampton, but he is denied by Fraser Forster. The rebound still falls to a fellow Chelsea player in Timo Werner, who is gifted a tap-in to score his second of the day and the Blues’ fifth goal over the Saints at their home turf
Forster is trying his utmost to keep Chelsea’s lead at tight as possible. But when your defence offers little to no help at that, there is only so much one man can do.
Not that Mason Mount cares. From yet another rebound by the Southampton’s shot-stopper, he nets a brace and adds a sixth goal in Chelsea’s favour!
