Former England national team captain John Terry, Ex-Manchester United football club star Odion Jude Ighalo and Solomon Kalou reacted after the Super Eagles Legend John Obi Mikel, announced retirement from professional football on Tuesday.
Mikel Obi revealed on his verified Instagram handle on Tuesday that his professional football career has come to an end after playing for 20 years.
The 35-year-old started his football career from the under 17 where he represented the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria and he went on to play for the Flying Eagles and the Under 23 before being promoted to the Super Eagles.
Mikel Obi played for the likes of Plateau United football club of Nigeria, Lyn Oslo football club in Norway, Chelsea football club of England, Tianjin Jinmen Tiger FC in China, Middlesbrough football club of England, Trabzonspor football club in Turkey, Stoke City football club of England and Al Kuwait football club of Kuwait before announcing his retirement.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner spent 10 and a half years at Chelsea football club and he was able to win all the domestic trophies and the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
