According to Pete O’Rourke on his column for Football Insider, Chelsea are primarily focused on the signing of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong in the summer. While they have other targets to bolster their midfield, per O’Rourke, De Jong is the most acquirable midfielder for Chelsea due to Barcelona looking to sell him.
Man Utd Keeping Eye On Silva
Manchester United are among the clubs to have recently scouted Benfica prodigy António Silva, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
“Silva is contracted until 2027 with a €100m release clause. Real Madrid, Liverpool, Dortmund, Napoli and Manchester United are among the clubs who have recently sent scouts to see Silva play,” Jacobs stated in his column for CaughtOffside.
“But there’s nothing to get too excited about just yet. It’s normal to watch top young players at this stage of the season and it will take time before it’s clear if any club moves.”
