Watch as Ethan Ampadu’s brilliant first professional goal ruled out

Ethan Ampadu has played a lot of professional games without a goal, even for a defender, and today he thought his number had finally been called.

With Spezia 2-0 up, he smashed a loose ball in with a great volley and celebrated what he thought was his first pro goal wildly.

Sadly, it was called back for offside. The wait continues for poor Ethan…

To make things worse, rather than going 3-0 up Spezia ended up conceding twice and drawing 2-2 – potentially huge as they battle Serie A relegation.
