Watch Conor Gallagher moments in his first start for Chelsea in the UCL

Conor Gallagher was given a first Champions League start for Chelsea, and looked good as the Blues blew away RB Salzburg with some effective attacking football.

Gallagher’s energy and attacking instincts were key in a few of those moves, as he drifted between the lines and made runs in transition.

He’s already looking increasingly comfortable in the first team. It’s important to remember that this is all new for him – as he noted after the game when he said how excited he was to have made his first start in the European Cup.

It hasn’t all been easy for Conor, but nights like this are great for him and help him move towards long term importance in Graham Potter’s first team plans.

He still needs polish, but the raw materials are there for a super player. He should feel proud tonight after a showing which really made his ability to play in Europe clear.
