Good news from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea to release club statement today
Sad news from Chelsea football club this afternoon as Wayne Chillwell, father to left-back, Ben Chilwell passed away.

Originally from New Zealand, Wayne emigrated to England in 1993, three years prior to the birth of the Chelsea star.

An ever present figure in the life of his son, Wayne got Chilwell into Leicester City’s academy at the age of 12 in 2009 having played in Rushden & Diamonds’ centre of excellence and would definitely have been proud to see his son succeed in the sport at professional level.

In 2021, after Ben earned a mega move to Chelsea, he helped the London club win an historic second UEFA Champions League final at the Estadio do Dragao in Porrugal.

Wayne was in attendance as he joined his son in the on-pitch celebration with the magnificent trophy.

One of the first Chelsea players to send his condolences to the defender is Wesley Fofana. The former Leicester City defender took to his twitter account to send words of support to the Chillwell family.

Chelsea fans also joined the French star in praying for the Chillwell family and showing support for their left-back.

Please kindly leave a message of prayer and support for the Chelsea defender in the comments below.
