Wesley Fofana sends message to Reece James after he pick up injury against Bournemouth

BREAKING: Wesley Fofana finally agreed personal terms with Chelsea as Leicester accept deal

Wesley Fofana has taken to Instagram to issue a message of support to Reece James after he suffered an injury in Chelsea’s victory over Bournemouth last night.

Kai Havertz and Mason Mount struck for the Blues, who looked back to their best particularly in the first half.

The wing-back was playing his first game since an injury suffered against AC Milan in October, which ruled him out of the World Cup in Qatar.

It was never planned for James to play the full game, however just minutes into the second half he went down and signalled he needed to come off.

The pain was only matched by the pain in his face, as the possibility of another spell on the sidelines became a reality for the 23-year-old.

Fellow defender Fofana took to Instagram send his support to a player he has already become close friends with at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “My bro I am with you stay strong. You will come back stronger.”

The Frenchman is also the recipient of an extended spell on the sidelines, after attempting to make his recovery from injury after the Christmas break.

However, an injury suffered in a behind closed doors friendly has seen his return to competitive football pushed back to the new year.

The pair have the potential to be key members on the right of Chelsea’s defence for a number of years, with James slotting back into things seamlessly in the time he was back on the pitch.

He also combined well with Raheem Sterling, who picked up plenty of praise for his performance. The Englishman provided a sensational assist for Havertz to open the scoring.

Blues fans will be praying that the injury is not as bad as feared, with them already having plenty of examples of how much weaker they are without James in the side.
