Christopher Nkunku has shared a positive update on his injury recovery journey.
The attacking midfielder uploaded an Instagram Stories video on Tuesday. It showed him diligently working on strengthening his knee.
Nkunku is yet to make his competitive debut for Chelsea. The 25-year-old joined the club in the summer for €60 million from RB Leipzig. But he suffered an knee injury during the preseason and required surgery.
Chelsea don’t expect him back until the new year, but the player appears to be making strides toward a full recovery.
Nkunku hopes to build considerable success at Leipzig when he finally gets going in Chelsea colors. He amassed 70 goals and contributed 56 assists in 172 appearances for the German club.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will return to action this Saturday against Brentford in the Premier League.
They aim to carry on their improved form, having gone unbeaten in their last four games (W3 D1) to ascend to 10th place in the Premier League standings.
