What Cole Palmer did last night against Brighton in the Carabao cup

Cole Palmer last night did something in attack that no other Chelsea player has managed to achieve so far this season.

Football has stated that he is now the only Blue to have created a ‘big chance’ in consecutive games this season.

Brought in on deadline day, there is plenty of excitement around the Chelsea fanbase that Palmer can be an important player for them this season and beyond.

However, before last night he had not started a game for his new club, and instead had been forced to settle for cameos in the second half.

The former Manchester City man had certainly been impacting things in his brief time on the pitch, and many were just waiting until he was handed his first start.

This came last night in what was a must-win EFL Cup tie for the Blues at home to Brighton.

Palmer creating big chances

Palmer set up the only goal of the game for Nicolas Jackson, whose confidence will no doubt have been handed a huge boost following the return to the scoresheet.

The England U21 international was the star of the show though before he was replaced late on by Enzo Fernandez, who no doubt will be excited to feature alongside him more often.

Mozo Football tweeted how he also achieved something in his first start for the club that no one else had done so far this season.

They said: “Cole Palmer is the first Chelsea player to create a big chance in back to back games this season for the blues. He has now created 6 chances inside just 162 minutes for Chelsea.”

With the Blues back in action on Monday in the West London derby against Fulham, there should be no excuses for not starting Palmer at the weekend.
